Pinus Densiflora Leaf Extract description

_Pinus densiflora_ leaf extract comes from the leaves of a plant commonly known as the Japanese red pine or Korean red pine, native to parts of East Asia and Siberia. As with most plant-derived ingredients, _Pinus densiflora_ leaf extract has antioxidant properties. Recent research also indicates this extract has anti-inflammatory benefits and one study even determined this extract can inhibit tyrosinase activity within skin. Tyrosinase inhibitors have a potential role in influencing melanin production, which may help improve the appearance of uneven skin tone. While the extract from the needles is skin beneficial, it’s best to avoid the oil from this plant, as despite some good properties, it also contains volatile components that can cause skin irritation. The recommended use level of _Pinus densiflora_ leaf extract in skin care hovers between 1–3%.
