Gleditsia Triacanthos Seed Extract description

_Gleditsia triacanthos_ seed extract comes from a plant commonly known as the honey locust that is native to central parts of North America. While not a commonly used ingredient in cosmetics, _Gleditsia triacanthos_ seed extract offers antioxidant benefits for skin, primarily through its content of phenols. Honey locust seed extract is also known for its concentration of galactomannans, a type of polysaccharide (complex sugar) found in plant seeds. These galactomannans serve as hair and skin conditioning agents, as well as thickening and stabilizing cosmetic formulas. This extract is generally used in amounts from 0.5-1.5% in skin care products.
