The environment has priority at Paula’s Choice
Everything we do has an impact on the environment. That is why Paula’s Choice has from the beginning embraced a green and sustainable policy in which the wellbeing of people and animals has priority. We do not test our products on animals and the materials we use should not cause needless damage to the environment and should, whenever possible, be derived from sustainable sources. We apply these principles to the best of our ability to everything we do: in developing and manufacturing our products, in packaging and in shipping orders.
It is common knowledge that Paula’s Choice only uses ingredients which are 100% safe and of which the effectiveness has been shown in published research. Whenever possible, Paula’s Choice opts for ingredients from sustainable sources. An example is the palm oil we use in Resist Super Antioxidant Concentrate. The traditional way in which palm oil is obtained is harmful to the rain forest and consequently also to the people and animals living there. Paula’s Choice buys this ingredient therefore from a company certified for sustainable production. This company is based in Malaysia
Leaping Bunny Program
Paula's Choice does not condone the use of animal testing on cosmetics and never has. Throughout Paula's 30 years of writing about the beauty industry she has consistently spoken out against testing cosmetics on animals. Paula's Choice, LLC. does not test our products on animals and never will. Additionally, we do not fund any independent source to conduct animal testing on our behalf. We are committed to the global adoption of alternative safety testing methods and the elimination of animal testing on cosmetics worldwide.
In April 2013, Paula's Choice became an officially certified member of the Leaping Bunny Program. The requirements for the Leaping Bunny Certification include a commitment to eliminate animal testing not only from the company, but also from our ingredient suppliers. The result is a product guaranteed to be 100% free of new animal testing. The program is administered by a coalition of animal rights organizations, including the Humane Society of the United States and the National Anti-Vivisection Society. Our plastic tubes and bottles, caps included, are suitable for recycling. They can be disposed of together with other recyclable plastics. Recycling programs vary from one community to the next.
Paula’s Choice does not use any extraneous packaging. Our tubes and bottles are not packaged with plastic-wrapped outer cartons or extra foil. Paula’s Choice decided as long as 15 years ago to print the product information on the tubes and bottles themselves, which makes additional packaging unnecessary.
The cardboard boxes in which we ship the orders, the step-by-step guides and the ingredients lists are made from paper bearing the FSC-seal (Forest Stewardship Council) for responsible forest management. They can be recycled in any paper recycling program. When you place your order, you can indicate whether you wish to receive the step-by-step guide. Paula’s Choice does not add unwanted, superfluous brochures or leaflets to your order.
The padding protecting the products for safe transit to your home is made from recycled materials and can be disposed of together with other recyclable plastics. Samples are combined in a small plastic bag, which can be re-used or recycled
