Have been using this during my pregnancy since the BHA is not recommended during this time. Good product and I think it has saves me from too much stretchmarks and definitly helped to keep my skin smooth and elastic! Dispense a quarter-sized amount into the palm of your hand and massage onto clean skin in gentle circular motions. May be used daily for all-over smoothing and exfoliation, or applied only to dry areas as often as needed. If using with an additional moisturizer, apply this treatment first and adjust amount used based on personal preference. For daytime use, wear under a Paula's Choice sunscreen. Do not apply to just-shaved legs (AHAs can sting if applied directly after shaving). May be used on the face, but avoid direct contact with the eye area.

Skin Revealing Body Lotion Advice:
Skin Revealing Body Lotion with 10% AHA can be used by all skin types, but works particularly well for normal to dry, sun-damaged skin. If blemishes, blackheads or small rough/raised bumps on the body are a concern, Paula's Choice Weightless Body Treatment with 2% BHA is recommended instead (unlike AHA, BHA is able to penetrate the pore, normalizing its shape and improving its function).
It is normal to feel a slight tingling when first using Skin Revealing Body Lotion with 10% AHA, but if this does not dissipate or if it worsens, discontinue use.
Although AHAs can be irritating for some skin types, the irritation traditionally passes after repeated use. The ability for AHAs to exfoliate and solve many skin-care problems offsets the initial minor irritation involved with their use.
AHAs have a drop-off rate, meaning they do not keep exfoliating past the dead surface layers of skin. Once AHAs have sloughed off the thickened surface layers of sun-damaged skin, their effectiveness tapers off. However, to maintain results, AHAs must be used on a regular basis.
There is research showing that AHA usage can help stimulate collagen production in the dermis.
It is best (and gentlest for the skin) to employ one form of exfoliation at a time. Therefore, while using Skin Revealing Body Lotion with 10% AHA, it is not necessary to exfoliate skin in a different manner. However, occasional and very gentle use of scrubs or loofah sponges is fine if desired. Keep in mind that too much exfoliation can create a host of new problems, the least of which will be red, inflamed, and irritated skin.

How is Paula's Choice Skin Revealing Body Lotion with 10% AHA different from the 8% Alpha Hydroxy Acid Gel? Do I need both?
The two major differences between these exfoliants are that the Skin Revealing Body Lotion is in a creamy moisturizing base while the 8% AHA Gel has a fluid, gel base. The concentration of glycolic acid is the other main difference, with the Skin Revealing Body Lotion containing 10% AHA and being designed for use from the neck down. Both AHA products are formulated within the pH range needed to exfoliate dry, sun-damaged skin.
Can I use Skin Revealing Body Lotion with 10% AHA on my face?
Probably. If you have used AHA products (formulated in an acidic pH range to allow for exfoliation) on your face without incident, you should be able to use Skin Revealing Body Lotion too.
I am using Renova/Retin-A on sun-damaged body skin. Is it OK to use this with Skin Revealing Body Lotion with 10% AHA?
Some physicians/dermatologists advise against using glycolic acid at the same time as tretinoin due to the potential for increased irritation and topical side effects (such as stinging or flaky skin). Other doctors feel that an AHA product enhances penetration of the tretinoin into the skin. You can experiment with both options to see which one works best for you. You may apply the tretinoin product in the evening and apply the Skin Revealing Body Lotion as part of your morning routine, followed by an effective sunscreen rated SPF 15 or higher. You may also apply both at the same time, starting with the AHA and then applying the tretinoin product. If you experience increased redness, prolonged stinging, or flaking skin, discontinue using Skin Revealing Body Moisturizer over areas where tretinoin is also applied.
